In a formal statement, the carrier maintained that the operation was conducted within parameters established by the South African Civil Aviation Authority. The airline emphasized that the flypast was the result of extensive planning and rehearsal, conducted with support from both the aviation authority and Air Traffic Navigation Services.
Technical management of the flight involved specific altitude and speed constraints, with the aircraft maintaining approximately 150 knots. Airlink highlighted that the flight deck was staffed by senior captains, with three pilots assigned to each aircraft to manage command, co-piloting, and technical safety oversight. The operator continues to serve as the official airline for the test series, providing transport for both the South African and New Zealand squads.
