Dassault Aviation has officially reached a production milestone with the first flight of its ultra-long-range flagship, the Falcon 10X. The aircraft, registration F-WNXT, took off from Bordeaux-Mérignac in France on June 19, 2026, for an inaugural test flight lasting two and a half hours.
During the flight, test pilots reached an altitude of 40,000 feet and verified performance at Mach 0.82. The Falcon 10X is designed for high-end business aviation, offering a maximum range of 7,500 nm and a peak operating speed of Mach 0.925. With seating for up to 19 passengers, the jet serves as a direct competitor to the Bombardier Global 7500 and 8000, as well as the Gulfstream G700 and G800.
This flight marks a central advancement for the French manufacturer following the public debut of the airframe earlier this year. Dassault is utilizing two additional test units to support a rigorous certification schedule. The company maintains its goal of achieving full certification and entry into service in 2027, a timeline critical for maintaining its competitive positioning in the ultra-long-range segment.
