Saudi startup carrier Riyadh Air has marked a significant operational milestone by completing its first domestic commercial flight. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, traveled from Riyadh King Khalid International Airport to Jeddah King Abdulaziz International Airport on June 14, 2026.
The service utilizes a fleet recently bolstered by the arrival of three additional Boeing 787-9 aircraft from the manufacturer’s assembly line in the United States. This inaugural domestic route is positioned to support high-traffic travel demands within the Kingdom, serving as a foundational step for the carrier as it prepares for a broader market presence.
Following its recent international launch to London Heathrow, the airline is continuing to expand its schedule. Upcoming international service additions include flights to Dubai, Cairo, Madrid, and Manchester. Each of these routes will be serviced by the airline’s growing fleet of Dreamliners, signaling a strategic focus on premium capacity and connectivity across the Middle Eastern aviation market.
