A Milestone for Gulfstream
The G800’s debut comes just months after certification, underscoring the program’s maturity. “We have seen astounding demand for the G800, and the entire Gulfstream team is excited to begin making deliveries to our customers,” said Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream. He emphasized that the aircraft enters service with the same level of refinement as the company’s G700 flagship.
The milestone delivery was completed at Gulfstream’s Appleton, Wisconsin, completions facility, a site that also features a modern paint hangar and customer support operations capable of handling up to 48 aircraft per year.
Unmatched Performance
The April 2025 certifications unlocked enhanced performance figures:
- 8,200 nautical miles (15,186 km) at Mach 0.85
- 8,000 nm (14,816 km) at Mach 0.87
- 7,000 nm (12,964 km) at Mach 0.90
- Maximum speed: Mach 0.935 — the fastest Gulfstream yet
This range capability enables nonstop city pairs like New York–Singapore, Dubai–Los Angeles, or Hong Kong–London, placing the G800 at the top of the ultra-long-range category.
Comparison: The G700 offers 7,750 nm, while the G650ER delivers 7,500 nm. Dassault’s Falcon 10X and Bombardier’s Global 7500 trail the G800 in total range.
Cabin Comfort & Design
Gulfstream’s newest flagship is as much about passenger experience as performance. The G800 recently won the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award for Private Jet Design and includes:
- Lowest cabin altitude in business aviation — 2,840 ft / 866 m at 41,000 ft cruise
- 100% fresh air replenishment and plasma ionization purification system
- 16 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows for abundant natural light
- Configurations of up to four living areas, or three plus a dedicated crew rest compartment
These features, paired with Gulfstream’s award-winning interior design, ensure that passengers arrive less fatigued even on ultra-long-haul flights.
Industry Impact
With its entry into service, the G800 redefines long-range travel. For buyers, the aircraft offers:
- Speed and range that surpass all competitors
- A proven Gulfstream support network with 21,000+ employees worldwide
- Scarce delivery slots due to high demand
For operators and corporate flight departments, the G800 represents both a prestige asset and a practical tool for nonstop intercontinental travel.
Conclusion
The Gulfstream G800 is now in the hands of its first customer, ushering in a new era for long-range private aviation. With performance that eclipses its rivals and a cabin designed for maximum comfort, the G800 sets a new benchmark at the very top of the market.
