General Dynamics saw its aerospace division achieve notable growth in the third quarter of 2026. The segment, which encompasses Gulfstream Aerospace and Jet Aviation, reported revenues of $3.54 billion, representing a 9.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Earnings for the aerospace unit rose by 19.3% to reach $513 million. The company attributed this financial performance to a combination of higher aircraft delivery volumes and sustained activity within its services division. Gulfstream delivered 40 jets during the quarter, including 35 large-cabin models.
The business aviation sector continues to demonstrate resilience despite broader economic volatility. General Dynamics noted that the aerospace backlog grew by approximately $1.5 billion during the quarter, reaching a total of $25.4 billion. The division recorded a book-to-bill ratio of 1.4:1, suggesting that demand remains strong regardless of current interest rate pressures and geopolitical instability.
This performance highlights the ongoing strength of the premium business jet market as operators continue to prioritize fleet modernization and maintenance services.
