Bristow Group has announced a definitive agreement to acquire San Marcos, Texas-based Berry Aviation for $105 million in an all-cash transaction. The move represents a strategic pivot for the vertical flight services provider, aiming to bolster its footprint within the government and defense sectors.
Berry Aviation brings a fleet of more than 20 aircraft and a strong portfolio of government-focused operations. According to the company, approximately 72 percent of Berry Aviation’s current revenue is derived from special-mission services, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul work. The firm maintains long-standing relationships with several U.S. government entities, including the Department of Defense.
This acquisition is part of a broader effort by Bristow to shift its revenue mix toward more durable, contracted government services. Concurrently, the company is pursuing the sale of its Norway offshore energy business to further optimize its portfolio. Bristow expects to integrate Berry Aviation’s specialized capabilities, including unmanned aerial systems design, into its global platform. The transaction is slated to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
