Boeing has reached a major milestone for its narrowbody fleet, confirming the conclusion of all planned certification flight tests for the 737 MAX 7 and 737 MAX 10. The manufacturer announced the achievement in its latest quarterly results, shifting the program focus toward final regulatory documentation.
The test campaign for the MAX 10 proved extensive, logging over 2,060 flight hours across 976 individual sorties. Engineers validated critical systems during the process, including the enhanced Angle of Attack sensor, engine anti-ice solutions, and high-energy braking performance on wet runways.
With flight testing concluded, the program is now entering the final phase of development assurance reviews and system safety assessments. These remaining deliverables will be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration for formal review. Currently, Boeing reports that it is on track for final certification by the end of 2026.
For operators and leasing companies anticipating these aircraft, this progress remains the final regulatory hurdle before entry into service. If the current timeline holds, Boeing expects to begin customer deliveries for both variants in 2027.
