As part of the ongoing Operation Economic Outcast, authorities have placed 36 entities under restrictive measures. This list includes 27 commercial and private airlines, alongside various foreign cargo providers identified as facilitating logistics for the Iranian government.
These sanctions focus on restricting access to aircraft components and maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. The US Treasury Department stated that these measures are intended to disrupt networks used for the movement of personnel and sensitive cargo. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that entities engaging in business with these sanctioned airlines risk exclusion from the global financial system.
Industry analysts note that this development carries significant implications for regional operators. By targeting logistics providers in countries such as Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia, the administration is signaling a heightened enforcement posture regarding secondary sanctions.
