British Airways has launched a formal investigation after three pilots operating a flight from Hyderabad, India, to London Heathrow reported symptoms of illness. The incident occurred following an overnight stopover in Hyderabad, during which the crew reportedly shared a meal in a hotel lounge.
One pilot became incapacitated mid-flight while cruising at 30,000 feet. The crew member required oxygen and urgent medical attention upon the aircraft’s arrival in London. While the remaining two pilots were able to continue operating the flight, both reportedly suffered from worsening symptoms during the journey.
In response to the incident, the airline has requested that the affected crew members provide samples to assist medical professionals in identifying the cause of the illness. British Airways has stated that it is currently reviewing its crew accommodation arrangements in the region to determine if environmental factors or food safety protocols at the layover site played a role. The airline maintains that the safety and welfare of its flight crews remain its top priority as the investigation proceeds.
