Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines continues to distinguish its fleet with the addition of its second Airbus A350-1000 featuring the distinctive Silver Airsorayama livery. The aircraft, registered as B-58553, was formally handed over during a delivery ceremony at the Airbus facility in Toulouse on July 3, 2026.
This delivery marks the latest step in a collaboration between the airline and Japanese contemporary artist Hajime Sorayama. The project utilizes a specialized metallized paint application, developed through a partnership between Airbus and German manufacturer Mankiewicz. The design serves as a move toward integrating high-concept art into standard commercial aerospace branding.
The Silver Airsorayama is the second of the type to join the Starlux fleet, which is slated to grow to a total of 18 A350-1000 aircraft. These widebody jets are equipped with a four-class cabin layout totaling 350 seats. The carrier intends to utilize these units to support its planned network expansion into North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. A companion aircraft, featuring a gold-toned version of the livery, is also expected to join the fleet as production progresses.
