Airbus Opens 10th A320 Final Assembly Line in Toulouse

Airbus has officially inaugurated its 10th A320 family Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. The new line is located within the Jean-Luc Lagardère facility, which previously served as the primary production site for the A380 program.

This development marks the second A320 assembly line to operate within the repurposed hangar. According to Airbus, the integration of this facility is a core component of the manufacturer’s strategy to reach a production rate of 75 A320 family aircraft per month by the end of 2027.

The assembly line utilizes existing infrastructure while incorporating updated digital controls, automated logistics, and robotics to improve workflow efficiency. The facility is expected to employ approximately 1,500 people once it reaches full capacity. This expansion complements current production efforts at Airbus facilities in Hamburg, Mobile, and Tianjin.

During the opening ceremony, Airbus leadership noted that this infrastructure optimization provides the necessary flexibility to satisfy strong demand for the A321neo. The move underscores the company’s focus on scaling its global production network to meet current delivery commitments.
