Azorra Expands E2 Portfolio as Embraer Surpasses 500 Orders

US-based lessor Azorra has solidified its position as a key supporter of the Embraer E2 program by placing a firm order for 15 additional E195-E2 aircraft. This latest agreement, announced June 5, 2026, also includes purchase rights for another 15 units.

With this commitment, Azorra’s firm order count for the E2 family has risen to 54. The transaction serves as a milestone for the manufacturer, as the E2 program has now officially surpassed 500 total orders.

The move highlights a growing trend among lessors to prioritize high-performance regional jets. As airlines seek to optimize capacity and lower operating costs, the E195-E2 is increasingly viewed as a solution for opening new routes or rightsizing operations where larger narrow-body equipment may be inefficient.

Azorra CEO John Evans stated that the investment is driven by robust global demand from operators looking to modernize their fleets. The lessor continues to work alongside Embraer and Pratt & Whitney to introduce the aircraft type to new markets. For operators and industry observers, the expanded order book underscores the viability of mid-sized regional platforms in the current aviation landscape.
