A second Boeing 737 MAX has been flown back to the US from China amid ongoing tariff disputes. This aircraft, a 737 MAX 8, was transported to Seattle after China declined to accept delivery from Boeing’s facility in Zhoushan.
The undelivered plane first flew from China to Guam for refueling, then continued on to Honolulu. After leaving Hawaii, it arrived at Seattle’s Boeing Field (BFI), where it will be stored until it can be sold to another airline. The aircraft, registered as N242BE, was originally intended for Xiamen Airlines in China, so it will need a new livery.
Recently, the first Boeing 737 MAX was also returned to the US due to the ongoing trade tensions between China and the United States.
This situation highlights the impact of the trade war on aircraft deliveries.
